PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Plymouth crews begin collecting curbside leaves this week in Area C, the part of the city south of Ann Arbor Trail and west of Main Street. The first pickup week there starts Monday, Nov. 2, and a second pass follows the week of Nov. 30.
Area D, south of Ann Arbor Trail and east of Main, gets its first visit the week of Nov. 9 and its last the week of Dec. 7. Neighborhoods north of Ann Arbor Trail already had their first round and are due again on Nov. 16 and Nov. 23. Piles have to be at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of each pickup week, and the free program wraps up in the first week of December.
City crews ask residents to leave piles reachable from the street, park away from them because a hot exhaust system can ignite leaves, and keep storm drains uncovered. Pumpkins, grass, branches and other yard waste do not belong in the piles.
Winter is next. The City Commission, chaired by Mayor Linda Filipczak, adopted its 2026-2027 Snow and Ice Control Policy in October. Every residential street gets plowed once more than four inches of snow falls, with main roads and emergency facilities cleared first. Property owners have 24 hours after a snowfall to clear their sidewalks. If the city has to do it, owners are billed at least $200 the first time, $250 the second and $400 after that, and pushing snow into the road carries a minimum $250 charge.
