Born on March 18, 1950, in Madison, Indiana, her impact on the community and the countless students she taught for over three decades in the Tampa, Florida area is deeply felt by all who knew her.

Mary Turner was a proud graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. After completing her education, she relocated to Florida, where she dedicated her life to teaching and shaping the minds of young learners. Over her lengthy career in education, she became known for her unwavering commitment to her students and her passion for fostering a nurturing environment in the classroom. Colleagues and students alike admired her for her kindness and the personal connections she made with everyone she encountered.

Throughout her life, Mary was not only a devoted teacher but also a loyal friend. She put importance on developing lasting relationships in both her personal and professional life, becoming a beloved figure in her community. Her legacy extends beyond her professional achievements, as she leaves behind a family of choice who played a significant role in her life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Goss-Turner and Oscar Turner, who were originally from Madison, Indiana. She was later embraced by an adopted family, including parents Albert Hall and Virginia (Carvin) Hall, and siblings Barbara (Hall) McClanahan and Judy (Hall) Graves. Together, this family of choice created a bond that greatly enriched Mary’s life.

In addition to her adopted family, Mary is survived by her biological brother, David Paden, who resides in Plymouth, Michigan. After discovering her brother later in life, Mary cherished this connection and welcomed him into her circle. She is also survived by Jim Hall and his sister-in-law, Nichola Hall, who reside in Panama City, Florida. Additionally, Mary leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom remember her with great affection.

At this time, there will be no formal service announced for Mary. However, her family intends to hold a celebration of life at a later date, allowing friends and loved ones to come together to honor her memory and the profound impact she had on their lives.

Mary Alison Turner is remembered not only for her commitment to education and her nurturing spirit but also for her ability to touch the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to developing young minds will continue to echo in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
