Novi Welcomes Motor City Comic Con This May

The Motor City Comic Con (MC3) is set to return to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan, from May 16 to 18. Marking its 35th anniversary, this convention has increased its offerings to two shows annually since 2021, bouncing back from COVID-related interruptions. The event is expected to draw a large crowd of comic book enthusiasts, pop culture fans, and families alike.

Star-Studded Guest Lineup

This year’s lineup features prominent figures in the comic book world and entertainment industry. Among the featured guests is Fabian Nicieza, an award-winning writer best known for co-creating Deadpool. Nicieza’s appearance will be his first at MC3 since 1990, adding a touch of nostalgia for long-time fans. He has an impressive portfolio with contributions to many Marvel titles, including “X-Men,” “New Warriors,” “Thunderbolts,” and “Avengers.” One of his upcoming projects includes the intriguing “X-Men vs. Godzilla” one-shot.

Another highlight of the guest list is Jeph Loeb, a distinguished comic book writer and former executive at Marvel Television. Loeb, who has worked on significant titles such as DC’s “Batman” and co-created the Red Hulk, is currently engaged in writing “Batman: Hush 2,” which has already received a positive reception and is set for a second printing. Loeb’s participation in MC3 will also be a first, generating excitement around his interaction with fans.

More Comic Creators and Celebrities

Additional comic creators attending MC3 include Arthur Adams (known for his work on “X-Men”), Klaus Johnson (famed for “Daredevil”), Phil Jimenez (skilled in “Wonder Woman”), and others. Celebrity guests encompass actors from various franchises, including Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Martin Sheen (The West Wing), and Christina Ricci (The Addams Family). There will also be appearances from professional wrestlers Matt and Jeff Hardy, known as “The Hardy Boyz.”

MC3 promises an array of events, including panel discussions, a variety of cosplay contests, and a children’s cosplay contest hosted by the Great Lakes Garrison, part of the 501st Legion.
