Weirton, WV – Carol Baker Nale, a beloved resident of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 77 at Brightwood Center. Her departure leaves a significant impact on her family and the community, where she was widely known for her warmth and dedication to her loved ones.
Born on December 18, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, Nale was the daughter of Catherine Hymes Baker and Thomas Baker. She was a proud graduate of Weir High School and furthered her education at West Virginia Northern Community College, culminating in a fulfilling career at the Weirton Shop-N-Save, where she worked until her retirement in 2012. Carol was not only a dedicated employee but also an enthusiastic yard worker, famously expressing her love for outdoor work with her whimsical mantra about mowing the lawn. She enjoyed spending her time shopping and engaging in activities that connected her with others.
Nale was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nale, who passed away on March 6, 2012, and her brother, Richard Baker. She is survived by her two sons, Chuck Tenaglio and his wife Suzanne, of Weirton, and Chris Tenaglio and his partner Kelly Ernst from Plymouth, Michigan. Her family also includes her sister, Priscilla Barker, and four grandchildren: Matthew Tenaglio of Indianapolis, IN, Luke Tenaglio from Morgantown, WV, and Olivia and Kristen Tenaglio of Plymouth, MI. Additionally, Nale is remembered by numerous nieces, cousins, and friends, including her special neighbors, Stacey and Kevin Wagner.
The family has expressed deep gratitude to the staff at Brightwood Center and Weirton Dialysis Center for their exceptional care and support during Nale’s time there. Following Carol’s wishes, her body will be cremated at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory located at 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at Noon, leading up to the 1 PM memorial service officiated by Mr. Larry Barker. After the service, Carol will be inurned alongside her husband at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made in Carol’s name to an animal shelter of choice, honoring her passion for caring for animals, particularly her beloved companion, Zipper. Friends and family can share their condolences online through the Greco-Hertnick website.
