PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Residents of the city of Plymouth, Michigan, who are not registered to vote have until Monday, Oct. 19, to sign up online or get a mailed application postmarked for the Nov. 3 general election, the city announced in its newsletter Monday, Oct. 5.

Starting Oct. 20, anyone registering for this election must do so in person at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 201 S. Main St., and bring proof of current address. Residents can still register in person through 8 p.m. on Election Day. People already registered at their current Plymouth address do not need to register again.

Before ballots are counted, the city will run a public logic and accuracy test of its electronic voting equipment at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at the Plymouth Cultural Center, 525 Farmer St. The test had been scheduled for Sept. 25 and was moved, according to a notice from the city clerk. The test shows that the programming used to tabulate votes meets state election law requirements, and anyone may attend.

Early in-person voting for city residents runs Saturday, Oct. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Plymouth Cultural Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The deadline for online absentee ballot applications is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

Questions can go to the clerk’s office at City Hall.
